Outtalent founder Tilek explains what the program looks like in this short video. Here are the main pillars:

• Algorithms: core part of the technical curriculum covering theory and practice through curated problem lists and peer-to-peer practice, plus live seminars with mentors and coding mock interviews.
• System Design: required theory and practice through structured materials, tasks, and peer-to-peer practice, plus group seminars with mentors and mock interviews.
• Behavioral Preparation: communication and interview skills, including story preparation, behavioral mock interviews, and a final approval session.
• Job Application: after passing behavioral and coding exams and getting your resume approved, we support shortlisting positions, provide referrals within the Outtalent community, share access to our interview and offers database, and guide salary negotiation.
• Community & Ongoing Support: we maintain a supportive environment through weekly group meetings, all-hands, and alumni talks.

Outtalent is fully online.

Outtalent is community-oriented — we believe this is a big part of our success.

When new fellows join, they are placed in a group of around 8–10 people (the “batch”). Together, they join weekly group meetings to share progress, ask questions, and support each other. Fellows also get access to their batch's Slack channel to exchange resources, discuss problems, and stay accountable.

Fellows do not have a single assigned mentor, but they interact with mentors through the community, Slack, 1:1 mentor sessions, mock interviews, and seminars.

The program covers the most important topics needed for working at big tech companies. Our technical program is built on Algorithms and System Design lectures and seminars. The communication part focuses on writing resumes for software engineers and preparing stories for behavioral interviews at the target companies.

Coding (Algorithms & Data Structures) prep:

Resume, Application Strategy & Referrals:

• Support with application strategy, recruiter communication, and salary negotiation
• Based on your references, we offer referrals from Outtalent alumni currently working at big tech companies

Around 8–10 people per batch. Usually they are backend software engineers with 2 to 8 years of experience.

Our core program lasts 350 hours, and you can adjust the pace depending on how long you want to study. For example, if you spend 15 hours per week, you'll finish in about 6 months.

As a relatively new startup, we are constantly trying to improve our program, so it's hard to predict how many batches we will run in a given year. Please apply to talk to our representative and find out the most recent information.

It depends on your availability. We usually recommend spending around 15 hours per week, but you can choose less or more.

Yes. The majority of our fellows combine full-time jobs and studies with the program.

Most of our resources are recorded, and in addition we run live meetings throughout the program.

All fellows are expected to be available from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm (London time) every day throughout the program — but that doesn't mean we have sessions every day.

If you're temporarily unable to commit to the program and need a break, let us know — we can discuss it individually depending on your situation.

We do not recommend changing or quitting your job while participating in Outtalent, for several reasons:

• Workload: the program is extensive. Starting a new job might require extra effort in the first few months, and combining it with Outtalent can be too time-consuming.
• Resume signal: we'll have to include your current or last employment, and some recruiters may flag a recent experience shorter than 1 year.
• Interview questions: you might face extra questions about why you're already looking again, adding stress and potential red flags.

Starting Spring 2026, our application process is now simplified:

1. Fill out the eligibility form — about 2 minutes to complete.
2. A call with an Outtalent representative to learn about your situation and to address most of your questions.
3. A call with an Outtalent founder or mentor — to understand your technical experience, hear you explain complex concepts simply, and answer the rest of your questions.
4. If there is a match, you'll receive our contract for review along with a payment link. Once you're ready, ping us via email and pay — we'll sign the contract and start your onboarding.

Typical questions in the technical call include:

• What's a tech stack you're comfortable with?
• What is your experience with relational and non-relational databases?
• What is an engineering accomplishment you're most proud of, and why?

We'll also ask you to explain some of the more complex technologies or engineering projects in a simple way.

An Income Share Agreement (ISA) is a contract where you pay a percentage of your income after you land a job, rather than paying a large tuition upfront. This means our incentives are aligned — we succeed when you succeed.

You only start making ISA payments once you receive a job offer, and the exact terms depend on your contract type.

The first payment should be completed within 2 days after signing the contract.

During the program, you pay a monthly fee for as long as you use our services. You are responsible for setting your own deadlines depending on how many hours you can commit.

You pay a monthly fee while you use our services. When you get an offer, depending on your contract type, you pay a percentage of your base salary.

For example, with a $100,000 annual offer and 5% for 2 years:

• $100,000 × 5% × 2 years = $10,000
• $10,000 / 24 months = $416.66 per month for 2 years
• Or you can pay the $10,000 as a lump sum

If you don't get a job within 24 months of completing the program, you will have no payment obligations to Outtalent.

There are two scenarios:

• Monthly installment payment: you can pause payments until you find a new job, and Outtalent will support you in looking for one. If you don't find a new job within 36 months, your contract is canceled and you have no remaining obligations.
• Upfront payment: as with any other service or product, an upfront payment settles the contract and both parties are excused from further obligations. Outtalent is not legally obliged to return the money.

Most graduates keep in touch after graduation. You'll keep access to our online community, our knowledge base, and some of our software. You may also be invited to events with alumni, new fellows, and other community members.
